Life Raft (T12), FAA Type I, 12-Man

Transport series Rafts are self-inflating life rafts intended for use by aircraft crew members and passengers during overwater emergencies and are designed to provide safe, rapid and reliable means for aircraft egress in case of such and emergency.

When deployed and in water, transport series life rafts may be boarded on either side.  Raft accessories are contained in an accessories case tied to the raft using a five (5) foot (1.52 meter) case tie line.  Accessories case is pulled onto raft by occupants subsequent to boarding.  The fabric deck is equipped with an inflatable center float to provide additional flotation support.  Center float is to be inflated by occupants subsequent to boarding using the hand pump supplied with raft equipment.

Raft canopy, located inside accessories case, featured two (2) roll-up doors and a rain water collector in the top of the roof panel.

• Tolerances of actual pack dimensions:
         -For dimensions of 5.5 inches and less = -0.25/+1.0 inches.
         -For dimensions greater than 5.5 inches: = ± 0.5 inches.
• For stowage compartment clearance, allow additional 0.5 to 1.5 inches in excess of final pack dimensions.
• Tolerance of actual pack weight = ± 3.0 lbs.
• Allow additional 2.0 to 4.0 lbs weight when ELT installed.
