The ML-4 survival kit components include: day, night and electronic signaling equipment, emergency water and food supplies, emergency medical supplies, and general survival tools that include a knife, repair kit, matches, protective cover, emergency instructions, and one man life raft.
The MK-4 one man survival kit contains a life raft and required survival equipment for over-land or over-water survival situations. This kit is designed for attachment to the standard military bailout kit or to the parachute harness. After bailout and deployment of the parachute, the survival kit is deployed by pulling a single lanyard, which automatically deploys, inflates, and suspends the inflated raft and survival equipment approximately 30 feet below the survivor, which is the ready for utilization upon entry into the water. For ditching, the kit has a convenient carrying handle to remove the kit at the time of ditching and an easily identifiable lanyard for automatic activation.
APPLICATION
The ML-4 one man survival kit is designed for use on non-ejection seat type aircraft, where it is possible for the air crew to bail out utilizing either standard bail out kits, automatic or non-automatic. Aircraft configurations include: C-130, C-47, KC-135, B-52, T-28, T-34 and S-2.
