The PSP™ is an integrated seat-life raft survival kit configured for rotor wing use. The PSP™ system has been designed to offer crewmembers an accessible liferaft & survival kit for easy egress of a helicopter during emergency over-water evacuation. The PSP™ system configurations are lightweight, low profile containers, contoured to fit in the backrest of the crew seat.

The Constant Wear personal survival pack (PSP) is attached directly to the crewman by an adjustable belt. It contains a life raft and survival accessories in a flat pack located behind the lumbar section of the back. The crewman can free himself of the pack in event of impedence by pulling an emergency release handle. The liferaft is deployed after egress from the helicopter by pulling a lanyard which activates the CO2 system to inflate the raft.
